Robey Holland and Kattie Leito are the speech and debate coaches for Plano West. Plano West has produced multiple state and national champions in speech and debate events over the years, earning the school a spot among the top 10 debate schools in the nation for seven years in a row. Most recently, their team was the 2021 TFA State Champions, and their students have won tournaments all over the nation including the Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, New York City Invitational, Harvard National Tournament, TFA State Tournament, UIL State Tournament, and the Extemporaneous Tournament of Champions. Both look forward to working with campers this summer to perfect their skills and encourage students to pursue a passion for communication and persuasion.

Coach for Extemp and Public Forum Debate

Brennan is a rising junior who competes in both public forum debate and extemporaneous speaking. He has qualified for TFA state twice in 3 different events, the Tournament of Champions, Extemp Tournament of Champions, and NSDA nationals. In addition, he has reached outrounds at numerous national tournaments including Plano West, TFA State, James Logan, and Marshall as well as finaling at numerous locals. Brennan is incredibly excited to be teaching at camp this summer!

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Shivam Siddaiya is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School and competes in Public Forum Debate. Besides qualifying for the TFA State tournament twice, Shivam has competed avidly on the National Circuit - attending over 20 tournaments across the country: including tournaments like Columbia and Harvard. He has made it to rounds as late as semi-finals at national circuit tournaments in his junior year. He also finished as one of the top 16 teams at the Stanford University Invitational in Public Forum Debate. Additionally, he qualified for the Gold Tournament of Champions in Public Forum Debate.

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Kaustubh Sonawane is a rising senior who has competed in Public Forum over the last 2 years. In this time, he has qualified to TFA State and the Silver Tournament of Champions as well as reached outrounds at numerous national tournaments including Bellaire, Glenbrooks, and Columbia. He is very excited to teach at this summer's Plano West Debate camp

BRADY ZHENG

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Brady is a rising junior and has competed in Public Forum for 2 years. He qualified to Gold Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, and TFA State (x2). In his sophomore season, he broke to elimination rounds at all but 2 tournaments he attended, including semifinals at Arizona State Invitational, 1st at Princeton, and finals at other locals. He reached late elimination rounds at major tournaments including UT, Valley, and TFA State, and was top speaker at Colleyville Invitational.

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Farhan is a rising senior at Plano West and has competed in Pubic Forum debate the past three years. During that time, he has qualified to the Gold Tournament of Champions and to the TFA state tournament twice. Additionally, he has competed in late elimination rounds at prestigious tournaments such as Durham and Stanford. At the local level, he has championed the Creekview High School Tournament while placing at various others. Farhan is super excited to work with students at the Plano West Debate Camp this summer!​

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Satvik is a rising junior who has competed in Public Forum Debate for 2 years. This year, he reached elimination rounds at all but two of the tournaments he competed at, including tournaments like UT, Colleyville, Plano West, and TFA State. Furthermore, he reached semifinals at the Arizona State Invitational, quarterfinals at Valley, and won Princeton and other local tournaments. Most notably, he qualified to Gold Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, and TFA State in both his freshman and sophomore season. As PF captain at Jasper HS, he is experienced in helping aspiring debaters reach new heights and can't wait to work with you this summer!

Priyanka is a rising senior at Plano West who has actively competed in Public Forum Debate for over 4 years. She is a two-time qualifier to the Texas Forensics Association State Tournament and has qualified to the Tournament of Champions. Additionally, she previously served as a Jasper Speech and Debate captain and has extensive experience mentoring young students. She's very excited to work with students to develop their skills at West Camp this summer!

Kyle Letterer is a rising junior and competes in Extemporaneous Speaking. During his time in speech and debate, he championed the 2021 Stanford Invitational, reached semifinals at UT, Emory, Harvard, Sunvite, TFA State, and Glenbrooks, and placed in the Top 30 at NSDA Nationals in 2020. He is very excited to work at camp this summer!

Reeya is a senior and has been competing in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking for 4 years, qualifying for TFA State 3 years in a row. Her primary event is Congressional Debate, in which she has qualified for Nationals in, reached the Semifinal round of the Bronx Invitational, Quarterfinal round of the Harvard Invitational, and Semifinal round of the TFA State tournament, along with local success. She loves the speech and debate community, and can't wait to work with the young debaters this summer!

Madeline is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High and competes primarily in Extemporaneous Speaking and World Schools Debate. She placed 4th at the UT Longhorns Classic in International Extemp and semifinaled at TFA State in United States Extemp this year. In Worlds, she won the Isidore Newman Invitational with her team, was the top speaker overall at the Hockaday Women's Round Robin, and most recently was invited to the King Round Robin.

Gabriel Bo is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High School and competes in Extemporaneous Speaking and Original Oratory. He placed 6th at the UT Longhorn Invitational along with a final placing at the TFA State tournament. He has qualified for several National Speech and Debate Tournaments and reached many out rounds such as quarterfinals at the Harvard Invitational, Sunvite, Glenbrooks, and octofinals at the TOC.

Amit is a Rising Junior, and mainly focuses on extemporaneous speaking and congressional debate, competing in Speech and Debate now for 2 years in high school. He has qualified to the tournament of champions in 2021, and qualified for TFA state 2 years in a row. He has competed in numerous out-rounds in congress and extemporaneous speaking, at tournaments such as Stanford, TFA state, and Sunvite, being ranked as high as 19th in the state in foreign extemporaneous speaking at TFA state. He's worked with underclassmen and taught national classes on speech and debate throughout the year. Amit is excited to have the opportunity to work with the young debaters at West Camp!

Justin is a rising junior who primarily competes in congressional debate and extemporaneous speaking, at the local, state, and national level. Coach for congress and extemp

Charles Hou is a rising senior who primarily competes in extemporaneous speaking and congressional debate. During his time in speech and debate, he has qualified multiple times to the National Speech and Debate Tournament, and has reached numerous outrounds at national tournaments including semifinals at the TFA State Tournament, octofinals at the National Tournament, and 9th at the Capital City Round Robin, which is a tournament of the 16 top extemporaneous speakers in Texas. He is very excited to be teaching this summer!

Shrey Bahl is a rising senior who has competed in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking and Extemporaneous Debate. He is a TFA state finalist in Congressional Debate and has reached elimination rounds in many other prestigious tournaments such as UC Berkeley. Shrey has also qualified to the TFA state tournament in Congressional Debate, and qualified to the National Tournament in Extemporaneous Debate. He is super excited to help and work with everyone at camp!

Kelly is a rising senior who primarily competes in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Worlds Schools Debate and actively competes at the local, state, and national level. In addition to being a three-time state qualifier, she has qualified to the NSDA National Tournament and has reached the semifinals round of the TFA State Tournament in both Congressional Debate and International Extemp. Kelly is super excited to work at camp this summer!

Anushka is a rising senior who actively competes in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. She is a two time qualifier to TFA State in both events, and also qualified to NSDA Nationals in International Extemp and Northwestern University Tournament of Champions. Additionally, she advanced to out rounds at local, state, and national tournaments including the University of Texas and was a semifinalist at the Harvard National Tournament and TFA State Tournament. She is super excited to work with everyone at camp!

Abhinav is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High and has two strong years of Congressional Debate and World Schools Debate experience. He has semi-finialed the TFA State tournament, placed 7th at the Tournament of Champions, and 8th at the Harvard National Tournament all in Congressional Debate. He's also had success at multiple tournaments on the local circuit. He loves the speech and debate community, and can't wait to potentially have the opportunity to work with so many students this summer!

Phoena is a rising junior who primarily competes in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and World Schools Debate. During her time in speech and debate, she has qualified for TFA State and NSDA Nationals multiple times in various events, as well as the Tournament of Champions in Congress. Most notably, Phoena has reached outrounds at Harvard and Nationals; semi-finals at the TOC, Sunvitational, and TFA State; and finals at UT and other tournaments. Phoena loves speech and debate and can't wait to teach at camp!

Leo Yu is a rising senior at Jasper High school and primarily competes in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. Along with being a qualifier to the National Speech and Debate tournament, he has also reached numerous outrounds, including the semi finals at the University of Texas Longhorn Classic, semi finals at the TFA state tournament, and quarterfinals at the Harvard National tournament.

He championed the University of Texas Longhorn Classic in Congressional Debate and has qualified to the TFA State Tournament, Tournament of Champions, and NIETOC, ETOC, and more. Coach for Congressional Debate

Atharv Kulkarni is a rising Junior at Jasper High School who has been competing in Congressional Debate for over 2 years, qualifying and reaching the Semi-Final round at TFA State 2 years in a row. Along with qualifying to the National Speech and Debate Tournament twice and reaching the semi-final round of the Senate, as well as qualifying to the 2021 TOC with 4 bids, he has made appearances in numerous out rounds, including the semi-final round of the Sunvitational, quarter-finals at the Harvard Forensic Tournament, and finishing 8th place at the UT Longhorn Classic.

Olivia is a rising senior and competes primarily in Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, and Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking. She is a 3x TFA state qualifier, 2x NIETOC qualifier, and a NSDA national qualifier. In Original Oratory, she has reached semifinals at the UT Longhorn Classic, quarterfinals at the New York Invitational, and quarterfinals at the TFA state tournament. With six years of public speaking experience and a former PWSH Debate Camp attendee, Olivia is looking forward to working at camp this year!

Vibha is a rising senior at Plano East Senior High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the past six years. She served as Speech Captain of the Plano East team this past year, and will serve as Co-President in the upcoming school year. She has qualified to the TFA State Tournament, the TOC, the NIETOC, and the NSDA National Tournament and reached outrounds at numerous state and national level tournaments, including placing 2nd at the TFA State Tournament, 3rd at the UT Longhorn Classic, and 7th at the Glenbrooks National Tournament. She is super excited to teach at the Plano West camp again this year!

Hey y'all! My name is Jennifer, and I've primarily done speaking events like Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, and Extemporaneous Speaking throughout high school. This past year, I finalled at the TFA State Tournament and the New York Invitational in Original Oratory, and I took first in the state in US Extemp. Coach for Lincoln Douglas Debate 

Ali Gavalya is a rising senior at Plano West and has been involved in Speech and Debate for the past 3 years. She has experience in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Lincoln Douglas Debate. Having attended Plano West debate Camp as a student, Ali knows that the camp is an amazing opportunity to improve skills and make friends in debate. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to be an instructor this year.
