Robey Holland and Kattie Leito are the speech and debate coaches for Plano West. Plano West has produced multiple state and national champions in speech and debate events over the years, earning the school a spot among the top 10 debate schools in the nation for seven years in a row. Most recently, their team was the 2022 TFA State Champions, and their students have won tournaments all over the nation including the Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, New York City Invitational, Harvard National Tournament, TFA State Tournament, Yale Tournament, UIL State Tournament, the Extemporaneous Tournament of Champions, and the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions. Both look forward to working with campers this summer to perfect their skills and encourage students to pursue a passion for communication and persuasion.

Phoena Lin
Coach for International Extemporaneous Speaking & Congressional Debate
Phoena is a rising senior at Plano West and is thrilled to be teaching at camp again! She focuses on Extemp, Congress, and World Schools Debate, having qualified to TFA State, NSDA Nationals, TOC, and ETOC. Most notably, Phoena is the current TFA State Champion in Foreign Extemp, where she was also Top Speaker and Runner-Up in Congress. Phoena also placed 2nd and 3rd at UT in both types of Extemp, was Top Seed and 3rd overall at the UPenn World Schools Tournament, and placed 8th at Harvard. Phoena came to West Camp for four years straight and is incredibly excited to meet everyone!
Kyle Letterer
Coach for Domestic and International Extemporaneous Speaking
Kyle Letterer is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and has been competing in speech and debate for the past six years. Last year, he was a Junior Captain at Plano West Senior High School. He’s championed various state and national tournaments such as TFA State, the Stanford Invitational, and the Longhorn Classic at the University of Texas. He also placed 8th in USX at NSDA Nationals in 2021 and is a MBA Invitee.
Gabriel Bo is a rising senior at Plano West. He is the champion of the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions, Runner Up at the Emory University Barkley Forum, 5th at the University of Florida Blue Key Tournament, and 7th at the Harvard University Invitational in Extemporaneous Speaking. At the TFA State Tournament, Gabriel placed 3rd in International Extemporaneous Speaking. He can't wait to work with everyone at camp this year!

Madeline Tsao is a rising senior at Plano West and has been competing for six years, primarily in Extemporaneous Speaking and World Schools Debate. She placed 3rd at the UT Longhorns Classic and 7th at TFA State as a junior, and quarterfinaled at Nationals her sophomore year. She has spent 3 summers at the Plano West Debate Camp and is excited to be returning for a 4th!

Anirudh is a graduating senior at Plano West and has been competing in speech and debate for the past six years. He's served as a junior captain and qualified to the TFA State tournament in three events this year, as well as qualifying to the TOC twice, the NIETOC twice, the ETOC, and the NSDA National Tournament. He has also reached out-rounds at numerous state and national circuit tournaments, such as the Harvard Tournament, the New York Invitational, the UT Longhorn Classic, and the TFA State Tournament. He cannot wait to teach at the Plano West camp this year!

Kate is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High School and has been competing in speech in speech and debate for three years. She has qualified for TFA State, TOC, NIETOC, and NSDA Nationals and has broken to outrounds in both domestic extemporaneous speaking and congressional debate at the state level, and in domestic extemp to national outrounds. She is privileged to be teaching at West camp this summer!
​Kaaviya is a rising junior at Plano West and has been competing in Extemp and Congress for four years. She has qualified to the TFA State Tournament, the TOC, the NIETOC, and the ETOC, and has reached outrounds at tournaments such as UT, Harvard, and TFA State. She is incredibly excited to teach at camp this year!

Pranav is a rising junior at TAMS, and has been competing in speech and debate for the past six years. He served as Extemp Captain of the Jasper team this past year. Atharv is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the past 5 years. He has served as a Junior Captain of the Plano West team this past year, and has qualified to the TFA State Tournament and NSDA National Tournament thrice, and the TOC twice. He has reached out rounds at numerous state and national level tournaments, including placing 1st at the TFA State Tournament, the NSDA National Speech and Debate Tournament, and the Glenbrooks National Tournament. He is ecstatic to be teaching at the Plano West camp again this year!
Amit Konda
Coach for Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking
Amit is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School. He's been competing in speech and debate for 6 years, and primarily competes in congressional debate and extemporaneous speaking. In the past year in congressional debate, he has placed 1st at the UT Longhorn Classic, 1st at the Blue Key Invitational, and 7th at the TFA State tournament. In total, Amit has accumulated 7 bids to the tournament of champions, and reached numerous national out-rounds. His friends would describe him as a "funny guy". Overall, He's looking forward to teaching at Plano West camp again this year!
Patrick is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School and has been competing primarily in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking for 6 years. He has qualified to the TFA State Tournament thrice and the Tournament of Champions twice, and has placed 9th at the UT Longhorn Classic and reached outrounds at major national tournaments like Glenbrooks and Florida Blue Key. He is ecstatic and honored to be teaching this summer!

Abhinav is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the last 5 years. Primarily competing in congressional debate, Abhinav has made finals at numerous national tournaments over the last two years, including the Harvard National Tournament and Glenbrooks National Tournament, along with 4th place at Yale, 7th place at the TOC, and 4th place at the University of Texas. Additionally, he's placed 3rdat the University of Pennsylvania World Schools tournament, and has qualified three times to the TFA State Tournament in Congress and Extemp, and semifinaled both events just this past year. He is super excited to teach this year, and can't wait to get started!

Srjana has been competing in speech and debate for 6 years and is super excited to be teaching this summer! She primarily competes in Congressional Debate, having placed 5th at TFA State, semifinaled the Tournament of Champions, and semifinaled the NSDA National Tournament in the House of Representatives. Srjana also finaled the New York City Invitational and placed 7th at the Emory University Tournament this past year. Srjana loves teaching public speaking & is super excited to teach camp with her friends this year!

Bryan Hong (he/him) is a rising junior at Plano Senior High School. He has been competing in Congressional debate and Extemporaneous speaking for the past 3 years. He has qualified to the TFA State Tournament and has competed at numerous different tournaments.

Satvik Mahendra
Coach for Public Forum Debate
Satvik is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, who primarily competes in Public Forum Debate. This year, he and his partner Brady have led the nation in bids to the Tournament of Champions, in addition to reaching major outrounds at tournaments such as Glenbrooks and Harvard, where they also broke as Top Seed. Plano West MZ also won the Bellaire Tournament, were undefeated in the preliminary rounds of the New York City Invitational and UT Longhorn Classic. Satvik and Brady have also been invited to exclusive Round Robin Tournaments, including those hosted by Harvard and Florida Blue Key, as well as the King Round Robin. Satvik cannot wait to teach again this summer!

Coach for Public Forum Debate
Brady is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, serving as a Junior Captain for the team last year. In Public Forum Debate, he, along with his partner Satvik, led the nation in bids to the Tournament of Champions, reaching outrounds at major national tournaments such as Harvard, Glenbrooks, and more, as well as winning the Bellaire Tournament and going undefeated in the preliminary rounds of the New York City Invitational & UT Longhorn Classic. Satvik & Brady have also been invited to exclusive Round Robin Tournaments, such as the King Round Robin, Harvard Round Robin, and Florida Blue Key Round Robin.
Brennan is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and has been competing in speech and debate for five ears. Throughout his time competing, Brennan has finished 11th at the NSDA Nationals, qualified to the Tournament of Champions in Extemporaneous Speaking & Public Forum Debate, and reached outrounds of major national level tournaments such as Harvard, Yale, and the Texas Forensic Association State tournament. He can't wait to teach at West Camp this year!

Brian is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School. He's been competing in speech and debate for 5 years, and currently competes in Public Forum Debate. She is super excited to teach at the Plano West camp again this year!
Ananshi Patel
Coach for Public Forum Debate
​Ananshi Patel is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High School who specializes in Public Forum Debate. She has competed in speech and debate for four years and was a Public Forum Debate Captain at Jasper High School in her sophomore year. She has qualified for the TFA State Tournament both years of her high school career (2021 and 2022), reaching the doubles round in her sophomore year. Additionally, she has received a silver bid for the Tournament of Champions, championed several local tournaments, and reached numerous out-rounds in Tournament of Champion qualifying tournaments. She’s very excited to be teaching at the Plano West camp once again!
Arav is a rising senior at Frisco Centennial High School and has been actively involved in speech and debate for the past three years. He will also serve as the Vice President for the Centennial High School NSDA Speech and Debate organization in the 2022-23 school year. Throughout his career, he qualified for the TFA State Tournament the past two years, silver TOC and gold TOC the past two years, and the NSDA National Tournament as a sophomore, all in Public Forum debate. He has reached high outrounds in countless National Circuit tournaments, such as reaching Semis at Georgetown, Octafinals at the Bronx invitational, and advanced to elimination rounds for Public Forum at Plano West’s own tournament in Public Forum every year for the past three years. He is extremely excited to foray into teaching at the Plano West camp this year!

Aryan is a rising senior at Frisco Centennial High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the past three years. He has qualified to the TFA State Tournament, Gold TOC, and the NSDA National Tournament and has reached elimination Rounds at prestigious tournaments such as a 3rd Place Finisher at the Georgetown University Invitational; 5th Place Finisher at the Princeton Qualifier; Top 16 Finishes at the New York State Debate Tournament at Bronx Science, Dowling Paradigm, and Plano West; Top Speaker of over 120+ debaters in the Wyoming Classic in Cheyenne East; and many more deep runs at tournaments such as Harvard, Yale, ASU, etc. He was even ranked as high as 15th in the nation. He is thrilled to teach at the Plano West camp this year!

Shivansh is a rising senior at Centennial High School and has been competing in Public Forum debate for the last three years. During the 2022-2023 school year, he will serve as the Debate Captain of the Centennial High School Speech and Debate Team. Alongside being a 2x TOC, NSDA, and TFA qualifier, Shiv placed in the top 4 at the University of Kentucky Season Opener and Co-Champed the Georgetown University Invitational. Additionally, he's reached deep elimination rounds at prestigious national tournaments such as Yale, Hockaday, Plano West, Long-horn Classic, University of Houston, and Colleyville Heritage Winter Invitational. Outside of Public Forum debate, he also reached octofinals of the Pro/Con challenge at NSDA Nationals. He's extremely excited to mentor and work with everyone at the Plano West camp.
Kartike Chawla

Kartike is a rising senior at Centennial High School in Frisco, and has been competing in speech and debate for the past 5 years. He's an alumni of Plano West Debate Camp, and has qualified to the TFA State Tournament and TOC, and has reached late outrounds at large state and national level tournaments, including making it to Semifinals at the New York Invitational, placing as a 4th overall speaker at the TFA State Debate Tournament, and in his junior year, was ranked #14 overall in the nation for Public Forum Debate. He is super excited to come back to Plano West camp as an instructor this year!
Arjun is a rising senior at Lone Star High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the past two years. He previously debated for Centennial High School and has qualified to the TFA State Tournament, the TOC(2x), and the NSDA National Tournament and reached outrounds at numerous state and national level tournaments, including Bronx, Apple Valley, TFA State, Jack Howe, and more. He also won the Top Speaker award at the TFA State. He is super excited to teach at the Plano West camp again this year!

Vinod is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School. He has done debate since middle school and even attended Plano West's debate camp as a student. (You can even spot him in our gallery!) His success at the camp tournament many years ago was what motivated him to focus and continue on debating for many years to come. For that reason, he is very excited to coach a new wave of Plano students at this camp and hopes that this camp will inspire many new debaters. Vinod has done both Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas debate throughout his career. This year, he qualified for the TFA State Tournament in Lincoln-Douglas debate. He can't wait to see all of you at camp!

Arrman is a rising sophomore at Jasper High School and has been primarily competing in Public Forum Debate for the past two years. He has qualified to TFA State and NSDA Nationals, as well as the TOC where he placed amongst the top 20 speakers. With his partner, Anuj, he has made it to numerous elimination rounds at national level tournaments including 1st at the Seattle University Invitational and Colleyville Invitational, in addition to quarterfinals at Hockaday. He is excited to be teaching at West Camp for the first time!

Anuj is a rising sophomore at Jasper High School and has been competing in debate for the past three years. In Public Forum, he has qualified for the TFA state tournament, the TOC, and the NSDA National Tournament and reached elimination rounds at numerous national level tournaments, including placing 10th speaker at the Tournament of Champions, 1st at the Seattle University Invitational, 1st at the Colleyville Invitational, and quarterfinals at the Hockaday Tournament. A rising junior at Plano West High School, Aaryan has been competing in debate since 8th grade. After attending this very camp as a rising freshman, he has spent his time in high school competing in Public Forum debate and qualified to the TFA State tournament his sophomore year at Jasper. David Cui is a rising junior at Plano West who has done Public Forum Debate for 3 years, and is currently partnered with Aaryan Tomar. Hiram is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, with six years of experience in Public Forum Debate since Middle School. He also has experience in Humorous Interpretation. Additionally, he is currently serving as the Plano West Model U.N's Crisis Committee Officer, overseeing student's successful impetus in Crisis Committee, attending CTMUN '21, HAMUN '22, RiceMUN '22, and CTMUN '22, receiving a delegate award at HAMUN '22! Hiram is thrilled to use the debating skills and techniques he's learned in PF and MUN to help students at the Plano West Debate camp this year!

Joshua Li is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and has been competing in speech and debate since middle school, and served as a Junior Captain at Plano West last year. Joshua is a TFA state semifinalist in Informative Speaking, state quarterfinalist in Original Oratory, and TOC finalist in OO. He has qualified to tournaments such as TFA State, NIETOC, the Tournament of Champions, and the NSDA National Tournament, reaching outrounds at numerous national level tournaments, including finals at the UT Longhorn Classic and outrounds at Florida Blue Key. He's super excited to teach camp this summer!

Speaking, and Program Oral Interpretation
Christopher is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and has been competing in various forms of speech and debate since 2017. Last year, he served as a Junior Captain of the Plano West team, and is a TFA State quarterfinalist in Informative Speaking and Program Oral Interpretation. He's qualified to the TFA State Tournament, National Individual Events Tournament of Champions, the NSDA National Tournament, and the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions. He has reached outrounds at numerous national level tournaments, including 3rd place in OO and 5th place in INFO at the University of Florida Blue Key, quarterfinals in OO and INFO at the Longhorn Classic, and more. Since moving to the U.S. in 2018, he's attended West Camp regularly, and is excited to be teaching this year!
Sam Haggerty is an incoming senior at Plano West Senior High School and has been at the debate grind since middle school. She is a public speaker who has qualified to many extremely competitive tournaments including NIETOC, TFA State, and the NSDA National tournament in Original Oratory. She has also reached numerous outrounds at state and national tournaments alike, including semifinalist at the Florida Blue Key Speech & Debate Tournament, and semifinalist at the New York City Invitational, and quarterfinals at the UT Longhorn Classic. She loves coaching and is committed to making the Plano West Camp as fun and worthwhile as it can be!

Amina is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and served as an Original Oratory captain while at Jasper High School. Haniyyah is a rising senior at Plano West and has been competing in speech and debate for the past 5 years. Throughout her competing years, she has qualified for TFA State numerous times and NIETOC. Haniyyah has reached semifinals at TFA state, quarterfinals at UT, sixth place at Grapevine, fifth place at Nova Titan, and received first place at the Midwest Finch Legal Oratory Competition, and competed in numerous other tournaments. She is excited to teach new skills this year at the Plano West camp!

Manha is a rising senior at Plano West and has been a part of speech and debate for around 6 years. In the past year she has qualified for TFA state in two events, NIETOC, TOC, and the NSDA National Tournament. She received 3rd place at the Harvard Forensics tournament, 4th place at the Glenbrooks National Tournament, and reached outrounds at numerous other tournaments, such as semifinals at the Tournament of Champions and outrounds of the UT Longhorn Classic and TFA state. She is thrilled to be teaching at West camp and is looking forward to mentoring the new generation!

Jesse is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High School and has been competing in speech and debate for the past three years. He has qualified for both the TFA State and NSDA National Tournaments. This past year, he served as an Oral Interpretation Captain for the Jasper team.
Danielle is a rising senior at Plano West and has been competing in Speech and Debate for 5 years. She was a speech co-captain at Jasper High school and served as a Junior Captain this past year at Plano West. Danielle has competed in numerous tournaments such as NSDA Districts, Yale, and Grapevine over the past few years and will continue to do so in her senior year. She is super excited to teach and get to know all the students at the Plano West Camp this summer!

Christopher is a rising senior at Plano West Senior High School, and has been competing in various forms of speech and debate since 2017.
