Coaches for all events offered.

Robey Holland and Kattie Leito are the speech and debate coaches for Plano West. Plano West has produced multiple state and national champions in speech and debate events over the years, earning the school a spot among the top 10 debate schools in the nation for seven years in a row. Most recently, their team was the 2021 TFA State Champions, and their students have won tournaments all over the nation including the Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, New York City Invitational, Harvard National Tournament, TFA State Tournament, UIL State Tournament, and the Extemporaneous Tournament of Champions. Both look forward to working with campers this summer to perfect their skills and encourage students to pursue a passion for communication and persuasion.

Aditya Kumar is a senior, and has competed in Public Forum debate and Extemporaneous speaking for the past 3 years. He has qualified multiple times to the Tournament of Champions and to the TFA state tournament. Additionally, he has competed in elimination rounds at Harvard, Bronx, TFA state, and NSDA nationals. He has worked with younger debaters from his feeder school and coached individuals over the past year, and he looks forward to working with numerous others at west camp this summer!

ANDY SHUFER

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Andy Shufer is a senior at Plano West Senior High and competes primarily in Public Forum Debate. He is a double qualifier to the TFA State tournament in both PF and Extemp and has reached many elimination rounds at national level tournaments. He has also championed many local tournaments around the DFW area, including the 2020 Colleyville Heritage Winter Invitational, which was a TOC qualifier, as well as the 2019 Royse City High School Tournament. Additionally, he has competed at the NSDA nationals in World Schools debate and the Tournament of Champions in Public Forum Debate.

Rohan is a senior who has competed in Public Forum debate for the last 3 years, qualifying to state and nationals multiple times. He has broken at tournaments like Bellaire, Colleyville, and TFA state. Rohan is excited to work with everyone at camp!

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Lillian Ye is a senior at Plano West and competes in Public Forum Debate. She has qualified multiple times to TFA State, TOC, and NSDA Nationals. She championed the 2019 Grapevine Tournament. Additionally, she has broken at several tournaments including Bronx. She was invited to numerous round robins such as the Harvard Round Robin, Blake Round Robin, and Cap City Round Robin. Lillian is super excited to work with students at camp this year!

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Priyanka is a rising senior at Plano West who has actively competed in Public Forum Debate for over 3 years. She previously served as a Jasper Speech and Debate captain, and qualified to the TFA state tournament this past year. She was also first alternate for qualifiers in PF for the 2020 NSDA National Tournament. She's very excited to work with students to develop their skills at West Camp this summer!

Michael is a senior at Plano West who has competed in Public Forum for the last three years, qualifying to NSDA nationals and twice to TFA state. He has reached outrounds at tournaments like Harvard, Colleyville, and the Silver Tournament of Champions. Michael is excited to work at camp this summer!

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Angela is a senior, and has competed in Public Forum debate for the past four years. She and her partner were the champions of the 2020 Harvard National Tournament. Additionally, she qualified multiple times to the Tournament of Champions, the NSDA National Tournament, and the TFA State Tournament (in PF and DX), placing 3rd in PF her junior year. She has worked with younger high school debaters over the past year, and is excited to be an instructor for camp this summer!

Alyssa is a senior at Plano West Senior High and competes primarily in Public Forum Debate. She championed Public Forum Debate at the Harvard National Tournament. She has qualified multiple times to the Tournament of Champions, the NSDA national tournament, and the TFA State Tournament (placing 3rd in her junior year). At the local level, she has championed a couple of tournaments such as Plano Senior and Prosper and she is super excited to be teaching at Plano West camp this summer!

Coach for Public Forum Debate

Edison is a senior who has competed actively in Public Forum debate for three years, advancing to late elimination rounds at local and national circuit tournaments. His notable finishes include placing in the top 4 at the Capital City Public Forum Round Robin and placing in the top 8 at both the New York City Invitational and the Grapevine Classic. He also reached octofinals at the Harvard National Forensics Tournament and in the 2019 Silver Tournament of Champions. Edison has qualified to the TFA state tournament every year that he has competed, and he also qualified to the NSDA national tournament in his junior year. Edison is excited to work with students at the Plano West Debate Camp this summer!​

Sneha is a rising senior on the Plano West Speech and Debate team who has been vigorously competing in Public Forum Debate for approximately 4 years. Formerly, she was a PF captain at Jasper High School. In her sophomore year she and her partner reached outrounds at multiple tournaments, qualified for TFA state, and were the first alternate for the NSDA National Tournament. She is excited to have the opportunity to work at the camp this summer!

Neel Kanamangala is a rising senior at Plano East, where he competes in Public Forum. Neel has broken and received speaker awards at prestigious tournaments. Neel was the top speaker at the Plano West Wolf Classic, and broke the octofinals of TFA State after seeding 3rd.

Angela is a senior at Plano West Senior High and competes in Extemporaneous speaking and Congressional debate. She placed 1st place in International Extemp at the Texas Forensics Association State tournament and the Capitol City Invitational Round Robin for the top 16 Extempers in Texas. Angela also finaled at the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament, ETOC, and TOC.

Reeya is a senior and has been competing in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking for 4 years, qualifying for TFA State 3 years in a row. Her primary event is Congressional Debate, in which she has qualified for Nationals in, reached the Semifinal round of the Bronx Invitational, Quarterfinal round of the Harvard Invitational, and Semifinal round of the TFA State tournament, along with local success. She loves the speech and debate community, and can't wait to work with the young debaters this summer!

Pranav is a senior at Plano West Senior High and competes primarily in Extemporaneous Speaking and Congressional Debate. He placed 2nd in International Extemp at the National Speech and Debate Tournament and 2nd in Extemp at both the Harvard National Tournament and the Tournament of Champions. Pranav was also the 2018 UIL State Champion in Informative Extemp and placed in the top 6 of the invitational Montgomery Bell Academy Round Robin for the top 16 extempers in the nation.

AVANEESH RADE

Avaneesh is a senior and competes primarily in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. Notable finishes include 7th place at the New York City Invitational in Congressional Debate, two time finalist at the University of Texas Invitational in Congressional Debate (as well as receiving 3rd his senior year), Harvard quarter finalist, and TFA State semifinalist. He is also a two-time NSDA National qualifier, five-time TFA State qualifier (in Congressional Debate and IX), and a two time TOC qualifier in Congressional Debate (having accumulated 5 career bids). Avaneesh is excited to be able to work with campers at Plano West’s summer program this year!

ANUJ TRIVEDI

Anuj is currently a senior at Plano West, and will be attending Southern Methodist University this fall! Between Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking -- both USX and IX --, Anuj is an 8-time local champion and 7-time state qualifier. In extemporaneous speaking, he placed 1st at the Grapevine National Tournament, 5th at the Capital City Round Robin, and is a two-time qualifier for the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions and Northwestern University Extemporaneous Tournament of Champions. In congressional debate, he qualified for the UIL State Tournament and presided over numerous state-level outrounds. He's looking forward to working with bright, young debaters and teaching them the skills they need to be successful this upcoming season!

CONNY CAI

Conny is a senior and has been competing in extemporaneous speaking and congressional debate. She has competed on the local, state, and national circuit in extemporaneous speaking. She made the top 20 people in the 2020 state tournament and made semifinals in the UT Austin tournament. She is also headed to the National Tournament this year in extemporaneous speaking. She also has experience coaching and is excited to work with young debaters this summer!

Charles Hou is a rising senior who primarily competes in extemporaneous speaking and congressional debate. During his time in speech and debate, he has qualified multiple times to the National Speech and Debate Tournament, and has reached numerous outrounds at national tournaments including semifinals at the TFA State Tournament, octofinals at the National Tournament, and 9th at the Capital City Round Robin, which is a tournament of the 16 top extemporaneous speakers in Texas. He is very excited to be teaching this summer!

ADITHYA KARTHIK

Adithya is a senior who has competed in Extemporaneous Speaking and Congress for four years. He has achieved success at national tournaments, placing 7th at the Tournament of Champions and quarterfinaling at the New York City Invitational in extemp. He has qualified multiple times to the TFA State tournament in USX, IX, and Congress, and is a two-time quarterfinalist in state USX. He has qualified for the UK Tournament of Champions, the Extemp Tournament of Champions, and NIETOC, along with placing 6th in overall extemp at the UT Longhorn Classic. He looks forward to coaching at camp and helping students develop their skills.

KELLY HU

Kelly is a rising senior who primarily competes in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Worlds Schools Debate and actively competes at the local, state, and national level. In addition to being a three-time state qualifier, she has qualified to the NSDA National Tournament and has reached the semifinals round of the TFA State Tournament in both Congressional Debate and International Extemp. Kelly is super excited to work at camp this summer!

Coach for Congressional Debate

Tejas is a senior at West and competes primarily in Congressional Debate. Thus far, he has qualified multiple times to the NSDA national tournament and has amassed multiple bids to the TOC in CD. He’s a two-time TFA state semifinalist and was the champion of the 2020 UIL State Conference 6A tournament. Other relevant national placements include 4th at the Grapevine Classic, 13th at the New York City Invitational, 10th at the Big Apple Round Robin, 8th at the Florida Blue Key Invitational, quarterfinals at the Harvard Forensics Tournament, and finals at the NSDA nationals tournament. Tejas loves to work with aspiring debaters who share his passion and is looking forward to imparting all that he can this summer!

Faiza has been competing in Congressional Debate for four years. She has won numerous local tournaments in Congress, qualified for the Tournament of Champions and Nationals in Congress, and reached semifinals of the Harvard National Debate Tournament, Glenbrooks National Tournament, and New York City Invitational. She has also been a finalist at the University of Texas Longhorn Classic and the Bellaire Forensic Tournament. She is excited to teach at camp this summer!

Pranav Nathan is a senior at Plano West Senior High School and competes primarily in Informative Speaking and Original Oratory. In those events, he has reached the quarterfinal rounds at the TFA State Tournament. He has finaled at national circuit tournaments like the New York Invitational Tournament and is a national qualifier in Informative Speaking and International Extemp. Additionally, he placed in the top 16 of the International Public Policy Forum, a written debate competition. He loves to help younger students improve their speaking abilities and looks forward to camp this year!

Aryan is a senior and competes primarily in Humorous Interpretation and Original Oratory. In those events, he has qualified for the TFA State Tournament as well as qualified for the NIETOC. He has also qualified for the NSDA Nationals in Original Oratory and reached semifinals of the Harvard Tournament. Aryan is very excited to teach at camp this summer!

Jennifer is currently an interp captain and is a senior at Plano West. She mainly competes in Original Oratory and Informative Speaking, where she's placed in the top 10 at tournaments like the TFA state, University of Texas at Austin, Bronx Science for both events. Recently, she started competing in Domestic Extemp, where she recently championed the TFA state tournament. She qualified to NSDA Nationals in Oratory, NIETOC in all three events, TOC in Oratory and Informative Speaking, and ETOC in extemporaneous speaking. She looks forward to working with all students this summer!

Olivia is a senior and competes primarily in Original Oratory, Informative Speaking, and Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking. She is a two-timeTFA state qualifier in Informative Speaking, three time NIETOC qualifier in Original Oratory and Domestic Extemp, and a 2019 NSDA National Qualifier in Original Oratory. With six years of public speaking experience and a former PWSH Debate Camp attendee, Olivia is looking forward to working at camp this year!

Bhavik has been competing in Original Oratory for two years. During his time as a Speech and Debate student, Bhavik finaled at numerous local tournaments and even qualified for the TFA State Tournament. Bhavik has also been able to accumulate numerous NIETOC bids, allowing him to qualify for NIETOC. Bhavik is super excited to share his knowledge about Original Oratory during camp this year!

Medha has recently graduated from Plano West and has competed in Speech and Debate since the fall of her freshman year. She has three years of competitive experience in Original Oratory, during which time she has been a nationals alternate, qualified to TFA State twice, and qualified to compete at NIETOC. She has also done well at both local- and national-circuit tournaments, the most recent being UT Austin, where she placed 2nd in OO. As they relate to writing and performing Oratories, her strengths include finding a balance between pathos and logos, clarity in both structure and progression of the speech, and the use of body language to enhance arguments. For Medha, Oratory is just as much of a performance as it is a platform to exchange ideas, and she is super excited to explore it at camp this summer!

VIBHA CHEMANGUNTA

Coach for Original Oratory

Vibha is a senior at Plano East Senior High School and has been competing in speech and debate for six years. She has qualified to the NIETOC in Original Oratory twice, reaching octofinals, and to the TOC in Original Oratory once. She is a three time TFA State Qualifier, placing 2nd in Original Oratory this past year, as well as placing sixth at the University of Texas Longhorn Classic. She has competed at national tournaments such as at the Harvard Tournament and the Florida Blue Key tournament, where she reached quarterfinals. She has coached for public address events in the past, and is looking forward to doing so again!

Ruilin is a senior who competed primarily in Original Oratory since her freshman year. She has competed at 2 TFA State tournaments and numerous national-circuit tournaments. Ruilin has also finaled at multiple local level tournaments and acquired prior teaching experience. Ruilin is very excited to share her love of public speaking at the Plano West summer camp this year!

Coach for Lincoln Douglas Debate 

Dylan is a senior at Plano West Senior High school and has competing in Lincoln-Douglas debate for 3 year. During his career, he has qualified to TFA state, where he cleared to octas. He has also been in elimination rounds of national circuit tournaments, reaching the bid round at Colleyville. He is most interested in Kritikal debate, with experience in all forms of progressive argumentation, and is excited to be teaching this summer.

KRUTIN DEVESH

Coach for Lincoln Douglas Debate 

Krutin Devesh is a senior at Greenhill School where he competes primarily in Lincoln-Douglas debate. He has cleared at nearly every national circuit tournament he has attended, including reaching the bid round at St. Marks, Minneapple, Blake, and Harvard-Westlake and winning speaker awards at multiple others. In Texas, he cleared to Double-Octafinals of TFA state and also qualified to the NSDA national tournament in his sophomore year. Krutin is excited to teach debate this summer!

CONRAD KRUEGER

Coach for Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum Debate

Conrad is a senior at Plano West who has competed for the past four years. In Public Forum, he has qualified and advanced to the elimination rounds at the TFA State Tournament twice and has qualified to the Tournament of Champions his senior year. Additionally, Conrad has advanced to the late elimination rounds of many local and national circuit tournaments including UT Austin, Colleyville, Hockaday, Lindale, and many more. Conrad also has a Lincoln Douglas background where he qualified as an alternate to the NSDA National Tournament his sophomore year and utilized different types of LD progressive argumentation during his public forum career.

JANVI GARG

Janvi is a senior at Plano West and has competed for the past three years primarily in Lincoln Douglas Debate. She has been successful at numerous local tournaments throughout the past three years, and is excited to work with students at camp this summer! While she can teach the basics, she has a special place in her heart for pre-fiat educational arguments and can't wait to share them with you.

Jay is a senior who competes in PF at Plano East Senior High. He has competed in both LD and PF since his freshman year at both local and national circuit tournaments such as Berkeley and TFA State with competitive success clearing to outrounds at many of these tournaments such as the prestigious Plano West Tournament. He is eager to teach at camp this summer!
