Who We Are

Plano West's Speech and Debate program has been ranked among the top 10 speech and debate programs in the country by the National Speech and Debate Association for the past 7 years. PWSH's 2024 Summer Speech and Debate Camp is designed for students who seek a substantial competitive edge at middle school and high school debate tournaments. The camp challenges students' abilities in persuasion and argumentation and motivates them to improve their public speaking and debate skills.

What We Do

Plano West's Summer Speech and Debate Camp offers instruction in Extemporaneous Speaking (both Foreign and Domestic), Original Oratory (OO), Informative Speaking (INFO, for high schoolers only), Public Forum Debate (PF), Congressional Debate (CD), and Oral Interpretation (both Humorous & Dramatic). While we recognize that interpretation events like reader's theatre, lip-sync, storytelling, etc. are offered at the middle school level, our focus is on preparing students for events they can compete in during high school.
